  • I believe that online ads may sometimes be dangerous. There are relevant ads, and then there are ads that can lead you to scam websites or something of the sorts. Personally, I have no idea if what you are shown online is regulated in any way.

    And there is also the issue of privacy. Sometimes targeted ads make you feel like you are being watched (which, in some sense, you are) - and no one likes it when their privacy is invaded.

      Well, most trash ads are usually located on dubious websites and you don't have to visit those websites at all. Yes, websites like online betting services for example can be overwhelmed with ads of lower quality but the thing is those websites are themselves of lower quality. A decent site would never place ads that lead to malware.
